For now this is a 35 rounded down
i just want to make it clear that i really enjoyed this i read it very uickly and just want to make it clear that i really enjoyed this i read it very uickly and myself laughing out loud alongside the characters at certain points even though some aspects were very cliche i felt that it worked with the story and was still extremely enjoyable however i wish there were in depth descriptions of the appearances of the characters and elaboration on some of the side characters although i liked reading this uite a bit i feel like i m not fully attached or in love with it but i would definitely recommend this
book to anyoneto anyone for hadespersephone stories i am really happy i picked this one up but i m not going to give it the full 4 stars because this personally does not fully compare to other 4 star books i have read four point five stars gods i love greek mythology retellingshades and persephone have easily been some of my favorite figures when it comes to greek mythology pretty much ever since i first read percy jackson in the fourth grade and then took it upon myself to read and learn almost everything i could surrounding the mythology i now there are a lot of sources claiming hades to have Arabian Challenge kidnapped her and makes their relationship seem toxic but there are others that say persephonenew what she was doing when she ate the pomegranate seeds that tied her to hades that s just my opinion though please don t come for me with that being said i find the lack of hadespersephone retellings insulting when i heard about this book i was over the moon excited what s funny is that the author st clair used to write small excerpts about the couple on tumblr and after doing some digging realized that her excerpts were some of my favorite pieces of writing from tumblr ever i m so glad she finally published a novel about them because boy she did them justice i was immediately sucked into this novel and fell in love with persephone right away she was such a sweetheart and was genuinely ind and compassionate but also definitely a badass she grew so much within this first novel not to mention her relationship with her best friend lexa was super sweet and supportive and all around a solid friendship and then of course we have hades i m not ashamed to admit that a small part of my heartsoul will forever fall in love with hades in any retellingstoryfictionwhatever he was simply perfection in this novel i loved seeing them figure out how they felt for one another and all that entails and all of the angst and sexual tension that came with the couple was very very nice i also loved the fact that the plot wasn t necessarily too complicated so for most of the book it really did seem like a fun little read a lot of things happened towards the end of the novel and i m really excited to see how those events play out in the seuel thank gods i already have a copy of the second book bc i m picking that up first thing tomorrow morning Tantalizing and rich and sensual and absolutely gripping Whew yeah fans self This one was good I ve always been drawn to stories that have elements of Hades and Persephone but this is the first book I ve read that is actually about those characters themselves albeit with a modern spin to the story And let me tell you after just a few chapters I was completely hooked and didn t want to put it down The banter between all of the characters in this book is funny and witty I love the decision to give this story a modern setting because let s face it Greek gods and goddesses are messy and dramatic and vindictive and of course people would be willing to worship at their feet revel in their favor and the media would be ravenous to cover them Not only are we treated to the story of Hades and Persephone but we are given a full share of other Greek gods and goddesses as well as a host of other Greek myths and tragedies all of which have been given a fresh modern retelling Respect could build an empire Trust could make it unbreakable Love could make it last forever But even so than the setting I loved the fire between Hades and Persephone In this story St Clair has taken the original story of Hades and Persephone and molded it into something seductive and tempting The chemistry between characters is off the charts and St Clair does not hold back once the gasoline has been poured and the match lit When I finished this I definitely felt the high of reading a satisfying book rolling off meHades as a character btw chefs iss I cannot get enough of the way he is written in this Closed off yet compassionate Hardened yet seeking the good in people His character is so multi faceted I truly appreciate the depth we are given and how much of his character is unraveled as the story progresses I m thoroughly looking forward to seeing his character continu. Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only The truth is since she was a little girl flowers have shriveled at her touch After moving to New Athens she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist Hades God of th.
Scarlett St. Clair Ü 7 READBut I have yet to find a truly great one but this one was pretty decent the chemistry between our main couple was off the charts even though I would have loved to see of an actual development of them as a couple the story felt choppy at times and a bit all over the place but it s hard to give you any examples cause like I already mentioned the majority of the details are like a blur I do remember my overall feelings of enjoyment so I will stick to that hopefully when I reread this story in the future I will
Be To Give You Some Coherent Thoughts Iable to you some coherent thoughts XOXOA very sad to say I m pretty disappointed with this book I feel like the problem is that it lures you in with the premise of an uniue and creative modern day retelling of Persephone and Hades which sounds amazing btw if there actually is a good version of this please let me Der Verlorene Koffer: A Graded Reader for Beginning Students know but it really just is a cliche billionaire romance with Greek god characters the following is very spoiler heavyEverything that I deeply deeply disliked A Too Stupid To Live heroine Persephone is mind blowingly ignorant and clueless and I just couldn t understand any of her actions or decisions she made She had zero reason and just DID NOT THINK It s weird cause she s sorta being portrayed as some strong willed independent woman but her actions say the complete opposite everyone in the book basically just pushes her around and forces her into unfavourable situations and she just goes along with it She holds the pretense of being upset at first but really she just doesn t do anything about it Nothing she did made any sense to me Like in the beginning when she justept going to the Hades club for seemingly no reason at all Or when she was forced by the contract to produce life in the underworld and thought she could just bring some gardening tools and some dollar store seeds and that would just work I ILLERAMMA Kathalu kinda felt like I was watching a choose your own adventure interactive story with someone picking all the worst possible moves Really really frustrated me A Not Evil Just Misunderstood hero Yup So Hades has this reputation of being a notoriously wicked god because he allegedly forces mortals into entering impossible contacts where they must give up their vices or lose their souls But it is soon learned that Hades is not as evil and despicable as most people presume Turns out he s secretly the most concerned and compassionate person ever which is vouched by seemingly EVERYONE in the underworld Apparently he is so damn sensitive that it even pains him to hear vicious accusations about his reputation Also it s not that this characterization is bad it s just that it reminds me too much of that Rhysand guy from a court of roses and thorns Also there was actually a conversation between the two main characters with Hades insisting that he only proposed those impossible contacts to make mortals overcome their most evil vice sex addiction drinking addiction etc and only had completely honourable intentions or whatever And then Persephone says something along the lines of then why don t you just send them to therapy and pay for it And I just found this to be the dumbest conversation everUndevelopednonsense mythical aspects There s like minimal world building and the use of Greek mythology is pretty weak The only thing that seems to separate the so called divines from the humans are their horns The gods were just too human like for me they also had some powers which were barely shown at all but whatever Also the part about Persephone not having powers literally made no sense at all And the process to revive her powers was so goddamn stupid all she had to do was like believe in herself or something and apparently have sex with Hades a veryey step in order to restructuring your powersThe fact that it contained every single overused trope and cliche I despise Instalove it was like intsalust but whatever Over controlling and possessive alpha male The beautiful evil mean girl we re supposed to hate because her only role in the book is to steal the hero from the heroine An absent best friend who s only there to encourage the heroine to party and sleep with the hotshot billionaire The it was all for a bet trope this literally felt so random and unnecessary like why even include this it added nothing to the plot A dumb resolution that made me feel like there was no plot at all What even was the problem The contract The bet Why was she so upset with Hades and then suddenly forget all about it when she saw him againAn absence of proofreading Yeah another fair warning There was A LOT of grammatical errors and awkward sentences Maybe this was self published or something but yeah the lack of editing really irked meOverall Easy to read but forgettable I don t see myself reading the next on. Ne must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever The bet does than expose Persephone’s failure as a Goddess however As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom love for the God of the Dead grows and it’s forbidden. ,

I if I want to be Hermes Hecate or Lexa s BFF Can I have all threeDefinitelycannot if I want to be Hermes Hecate or Lexa s BFF Can I have all threeDefinitely this one if you re looking for a fast paced steamy read that will leave your mouth watering for Also no cliffhanger just a euphoric yearning to see what comes next Readers are bound to get hyped because of the Hades Persephone reference and had the cover not been updated it would lead to false expectations Hence you should be informed that this book is a smutty urban fantasy loose retelling of the King and ueen of Hell In other words it s the perfect escape for a guilty pleasure read should you ever need one I mean who doesn tHades was delicious It s Persephone I had a problem with or rather this version of Persephone She was um annoying For one she s a reporter a terrible one at that two she constantly doubts and judges poor Hades to be the worst of the worst despite being proven otherwise three I didn t like the mother daughter relationship she has with Demeter Hecate was my favorite character and I loved the UnderworldIt s easy to lose yourself Hades and Persephone say no Reading the synopsis for A Touch of Darkness I was ready to loooove this book A pseudo contemporary urban fantasy retelling of Hades and Persephone Yes please Hades as mysteroius millionare club and casino owner and Persephone as naive college student intern reporter digging into Hades infamous deeds YES PLEASESadly Scarlett St Clair s writing just wasn t up to snuff to pull this off Hades does not have a personality At all He s every Tortured Lonely Millionaire with Bedroom Eyes I ve ever read in the genre BUT even less interesting Persephone s primary character trait is annoyingThe idea of the world was interesting and gave me the same vibes as that in Lore Olympus but never came close to being as well developed or captivatingI honestly considered DNFing this starting at about the 20% mark and struggled with whether to do so for the rest of the novel WHERE ARE THE AMAZING ROMANCE RETELLINGS OF HADES AND PERSEPHONE It s ripe for the pickingI doubt I ll ever have the urge to continue the series2 stars uh oh someone please admit me into rehab because i am A D D I C T E D i started this last night just wanting to read a couple of chapters before bed and the next thing i American Literature Student Text knew it was 230am and my eyes were glued to each page i swear this book is a drug with each chapter feeling like taking hit i just couldnt put it down this is far from perfect the writing is nothing too special and the world building is a little lacking but goodness me this story is exactly what i needed fellow mood readers willnow the feeling of finally finding a story that hits the right spot and what a relief that is ps a small suggestion put away any expectations before reading this this is an extremely modern perhaps unconventional retelling so i think readers going into this expecting a traditionalfaithful retelling are most likely going to be disappointed 45 stars They say Hades is protective of his realm and while that is true it isn t about power He cares for his people protects them and he takes it personally if anyone is harmed If you belong to him he will tear the world apart to save you Story A Hades and Persephone retelling with a modern touchWhile reading the book I was really bored and sad because I love Persephone and Hades story but this isn t what i expected realized that I definitely had too high expectations shtCharacter You will worship me she said and rolled her hips against him His hands dig into her skin and she moved on her cheek brushing his as she whispered And I won t even have to order you Relatablestrong weak charactersFavorite NoneI didn t like Persephone She was always being such a stupid brat Al when I finished this one my gut wanted to give it 5 stars but logic prevailed don t get me wrong there were definitely some 5 stars worthy moments for sure some that left me all hot and bothered fans myself and I did inhaled it in like a day so there s that but in the end I decided on 4 stars my rating may change in the future because I Cheyenne: A Sweet Historical Romance know I will want to reread this book before I continue with the rest of the story no worries this one doesn t end on a cliffhanger like happy for now situation so you can read just this first installment and then wait for the third and final book to be published I wanna say sometime next year that s my plan at least the writing style wasn t great but it was hella addictive were there some cringeworthy or eyerolling moments yes but there were also absolute little gems to be perfectly honest with you I read it like a week ago and big parts of the story are already a blur I read it way too uickly I m a sucker for Hades and Persephone retellings.
